Early Release Due to Sewer Main Break

posted Dec 19, 2019, 11:59 AM by Dawn Johnson

This message is to inform you that there has been a sewer main break at Risley that has interrupted water service and operations of the school. Because of this, it is necessary that students be released early from school today, Thursday, December 19. All parents and guardians are asked to pick up their children from school as soon as possible. Bus transportation services will operate at regular dismissal time.

All after school activities and events are also cancelled.

Again, parents of Risley students are asked to pick up their children as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and support of the measures being taken in this matter.

Preliminary School Performance Framework Results

posted Aug 29, 2019, 10:05 PM by Dawn Johnson   [ updated Aug 29, 2019, 10:07 PM ]

Risley's School Performance Framework (SPF) results were revealed this past Tuesday with a celebration of noisemakers and cheers from the staff as Risley pulled up one category into Priority Improvement out of Turnaround!  The move is a result of increased growth rates in both Math and ELA, which also included slight increases in achievement.  The school still has much work to do this year, but the staff was elated to receive such encouraging results!  We look forward to continuing our efforts again this year!

Parents, Guardians and Risley Students,
Please join me at the District Administration building's Arapaho room this coming Monday, March 11th, at 5:30 pm.  The External Management Organization (EMO) stakeholder's committee has recommended two finalists to help lead Risley International out of Turnaround status, and WE NEED YOUR VOICE!  We know how much you care about the success of students who attend Risley, and this meeting is your chance to hear the proposals from each organization, ask questions, and provide your feedback before a final decision is made.  Let's go Risley Bears!

Hope to see you there!

Risley parents and families:
We are hosting an official district meeting on Monday, December 17th at 5:00 p.m. in our school cafetorium to discuss the recent Colorado State Directed Action for our school. At this meeting, we will review the requirements of the order including what an external management partner means for Risley in 2019 and beyond. Equally important, we want to hear directly from you about our school's strengths and continued needs in order to incorporate these into our selection of a management partner for Risley.
